Punch Taverns have had this pub on the market for the last two years with no takers and have now applied for planning permission to change the use of the building to housing.
Regulars have raised a petition calling for the Richmond to remain aa a pub and they already have around 100 signatures.
The Bath Planners rejected a planning application to convert the Richmond into a home yesterday. The Save the Richmond Arms Campaign members are delighted.
The Richmond has been entered on the BANES list of assets of community value, and has been bought by a pair of local businessmen.
It has reopened after redecorating and is currently serving drinks and traditional pub food. The official opening will happen around the end of October.
