The Dafford Street Brains Surgery used to be one of the more popular pubs in Larkhall, before it closed in 2010. The unusual brick building was built in the 1890’s and was known as the Royal Oak, which continued until 1980, when it was renamed by the former landlord Dave Derrick as the Brains Surgery after the Welsh brewers.

  • Planners have rejected an after-the-event application to turn the former Brain Surgery pub in Larkhall into a ten-bedroom house in multiple occupation. The work has already been completed, and tenants are currently living there.

The application was rejected over concerns around the disruption the extra residents would bring to the area, particularly parking problems and noise.
