  • nice inside, not a very friendly welcome though as the bar staff’s friends were at the bar we were more or less ignored. It is a bit pretentious and feel like because we weren’t in their social circle that we shouldn’t have been there which is a shame…will give it another try.

Love the place. Superb vibe and very friendly staff. The manager, who was responsible for the success of Bath’s renowned Adventure Cafe, greeted everyone walking through the door as if they were long lost friends. Could soon become the classiest watering hole in Bath.

  • DON’T BOTHER GOING HERE!! Booked a table here for a friend and I for supper. Turned up and on arrival we were ignored by the bar girl who was too busy chatting to someone who was not in need of being served. Eventually someone came up to us asking if they could help. On telling the lady we had a table booked she declared that the chef had just walked out. She then advised that they didn’t have any bookings for food…. I informed her that I had called only 6 hours before to make the reservation. Nothing was in the restaurant diary despite all my details being taken earlier that day. My friend and I walked out with barely an apology being given to us or an offer of even a complimentary drink for the inconvenience of having to find somewhere else to eat!!

Hi Charlie, you probably avoided having a pretty terrible meal! 🙂

The young lady on the bar gets the award for 1 of the worst displays of customer service I have ever witnessed….pure ignorence. A very clicky, clicky vibe hourboring the same croud of thirty somethings pretending to be something that they are clearly not, identical to a few other establishments within Bath in which I do not care to mention.

Went for roast yesterday, amazing!! Best in a long long time. Apparently it’s a new chef. I think now is the time for fubar, they seemed to have ironed out all the teething problems and got a permanent staff that seem mature and helpful. So nice to be served by someone who can communicate and have an actual conversation with and not some kid on minimum wage. You get the impression that everyone actually cares about the welfare of the business. The decor us cool and understated, not at all pretentious, the staff all look great in simple black identical outfits, the new menu looks well worth a look and the drinks are way cheaper than any if it’s contemporaries. an awesome atmosphere on a Friday and saturday night for drinks also (no kids) THIS IS THE NEW PLACE TO BE IN BATH

I take it the union jack bunting in the photo was for the royal wedding as I have never seen it up since…

Charlie just read your comment, sounds like bad luck to me, like you said chef had just walked out they were probably a little flustered… Give it another try

  • Seems they have sorted out their teethinproblems – new chef and new bar staff. Got a very warm welcome when went there for dinner last night and excellent food. This place is tucked away right off Pulteney Bridge which means tourists won’t find it – he he!! Fabulous decor – – 3 floors of cosy tables and soem larger tables – they’ve done a really really nice job on the compelte reno – I think it’s going to be my new favourite palce to hang out, drink and eat in Bath! oy yes ps – desserts were yummeeeee 🙂

Went last Monday, awesome pizzas hand made and a huge range of simple yet classic toppings and on d bogof deal…. Chef bougt hem to the table and asked for feedback. We were more than forthcoming and actualy received a glass of wine for our troubles at the bar afterwards… Very cool for a Monday night…

  • I’ve been to FUBAR several times now and I think it’s FAB! Excellent food, reasonably priced and beautifully cooked. Staff are welcoming and I like the atmosphere very much. Now there’s a terrace, smokers can keep dry.

  • Had a very nice Sunday lunch – food and staff brilliant even though we had 4 children. Nothing was too much trouble. Will certainly be back.

  • I visited Bath for the weekend recently and went to Fubar on the Friday night for early dinner. We ended up staying the whole evening for drinks and even made our local friends join us there rather than moving on. We returned on the Saturday night as the friendly staff, tasty food and ambience was right up our street! We’ll certainly call again on our next visit. 🙂

  • I’ve been to FUBAR several times and received good service every time. The atmosphere is friendly and the food delicious…I particularly recommend the Tapas, perfect for an after work drink & bite to eat when you need to unwind. Give it a go!

  • fantastic,i have been here a few times for drinks now and for the first time on saturday had the most delicious food iv had in a while i recommend this place to anyone even families as i have a eight month old and bought him along with me. the staff were great very helpful and friendly. i would also recommend the little pork bellies on the tapas menu, yum yum.

  • Every new business has teething problems but the team at Fubar have worked really hard to rectify them, and what a great job they’ve done. The addition of the garden terrace has made Fubar the complete package. I am the first one to complain about bad food or service but certainly have no complaints here. The staff are attentive and the new chef amazing. Definitely the place to be right now!! And don’t listen to the muppet talking about it being full of “30 somethings pretending to be something they’re not” – clearly this person has issues! There is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere – not at all pretentious. FUBAR ROCKS!!!!!

Went to Fubar this weekend for the first time. Service was great and atmosphere was really chilled.
If you are having tapas look out for the Pork! Delicious!
Looking forward to my next visit!!

Just had the most amazing steak sandwich garnished with skinny fries and well dressed salad. 3 outta 3 ain’t bad guys. The place was empty though. Come on people get involved with what seems like Bath’s best kept lunchtime secret. Great speedy service too perfect for lunch break, still time to read a complimentary paper.

Had an amazing roast here yesterday. I recommend the beef. All home cooked, real roast potatoes, not like the frozen rubbish ones you get in most pubs/restaurants nowadays. Nice relaxed atmosphere. We went for the 3 courses and got a free glass of house wine.
Am surprised at some of the comments on here about it being unwelcoming. I found the staff to be very friendly, and I am certainly not part of Bath’s so called “in crowd”. Ignore the moaners on here and give it a try.
